To make it easier, we’re introducing the ability for kids to start two-player games from within their chat threads on mobile iOS devices (Android to come). However, to start a two-player game, kids must leave their chat thread and go to the “Explore” tab to pick a game. While some, like Grow Your Pet, are single player, there are many two-player games like chess, tic-tac-toe and “Daily Doodle” that we know kids love to play with their friends. In addition to its video, audio and text-based chat features, Messenger Kids has a wide variety of activities for kids to explore. Tap on the “voice” microphone icon, press and hold to record your message, then pick from five different options to change your voice to sound like a robot, ghost, gorilla or mouse, or sound like you’re talking into a seashell. Take Voice Messages to the Next Level with Voice EffectsĪudio messaging is growing in popularity, and what better way to add some fun to your voice messages than by changing how it sounds? In the coming weeks, kids using Messenger Kids on iOS mobile devices have the opportunity to add voice effects to their voice messages before they send (Android to come). Kids can turn on dark mode by tapping into their Messenger Kids settings and selecting “Dark mode.” They can choose to turn the feature on, off, or use phone settings to automatically change how their app looks based on their phone settings. Dark mode cuts down on the glare from your phone, is great for low light situations, and provides lower brightness while maintaining contrast and vibrancy. We’re excited to bring dark mode to Messenger Kids on mobile iOS devices (Android to come). We hope these new additions to the Messenger Kids app will help foster creativity, encourage play and help kids build even closer connections with their friends and family.ĭark mode was one of the most highly anticipated features in Messenger, and people were over the moon when it launched in early 2019.
